JANSON FAMILY GESHA NATURAL
ST. ALi SPECIAL RELEASE

The Janson family has been producing coffee for over 30 years now. The family own and operate two farms which they have grown to become some of the most revered in Panama. They consistently place in the top lots of the Best of Panama competition and have taken out first place a few times. Located on the slopes of the Baru volcano, nestled in the Talamanca Mountain Range they grow exquisite gesha, pacamara, caturra and catuai.

The farm is sustainably run, with mountain spring water feeding the wet mill and an overarching eco-conscience mentality underpinning all their farm practices. They aim to keep a balance of nutrients in the soil using enzyme microorganisms, no pesticides and no herbicides. The farms are micromanaged in lots for traceability and quality control. Plantations are separated by forest which serve as natural barriers against pests and also protects the natural flora and fauna of the region. Power is supplied by 400 solar panels, plus all the waste produced in processing is reused as fuel or fertiliser.

This is a wonderful and very limited example of a classic natural gesha with unmistakable flavours of ripe peaches and the dusky sweet florals of rose water spiked Turkish delight.
