Seasonal Espresso Blend
SPICED LATTE RECIPE:
Spiced latte:
Double shot of Tonight Tonight espresso
35g spiced caramel
200ml milk of choice
Spiced caramel:
1 tin condensed milk
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla paste
½ tsp ground ginger
½ tsp ground cloves
½ tsp ground nutmeg
To make the spiced caramel:
Remove the label from your condensed milk can and place in a large pot. Fill with water until the can is entirely covered. Bring to the boil then reduce to a simmer for 3 hours. Keep an eye on your pot and add water as needed, for best results you want the can submerged.
Remove from water and allow to cool before opening. Tip the contents into a bowl and whisk in the remaining ingredients. Transfer to a jar and keep in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
To make the latte:
Make the Espresso:
- Grind coffee beans to a fine texture
- Use 20g of coffee for your double shot
- Brew the espresso in your machine (aim for 40g yield of espresso at 27-30 seconds)
Steam the Milk:
- Add your milk to a milk jug alongside the spiced syrup
- Insert the steam wand just below the surface of the milk
- Turn on the steam and heat the milk until it’s smooth and silky frothy.
Combine:
- Pour the steamed milk over the espresso and let your latte art skills shine
