Alemayehu Tilahun owns the Lalesa wet-mill, where local smallholders deliver their coffee cherries daily. With 20 years producing coffee and a 2020 Ethiopia Cup of Excellence win, Alemayehu has established himself as an unstoppable force among Yirgacheffe's famed coffee producers, known equally for the quality of his coffee and his community mindedness, and we couldn’t be prouder to share this delicious, bright and floral washed lot.
Grown in the high altitudes of Yirgacheffe, a region renown for it’s coffee quality, this lot is the result of generations of traditional farming. Smallholder farmers cultivate their coffee alongside other crops using organic-by-default methods—without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides—relying instead on natural soil fertility and manual labor.
This careful process, combined with Yirgacheffe’s high altitudes and unique climate, results in a beautifully clean, sweet coffee—one that truly showcases the terroir of this region.
